Whew! Amazing!...

Another great year at Cymera Festival and much fun was had at the Games strand (ABS our founder produces the Games Strand and sits on the board of the Festival as Secretary).

We had a lot of great guests and games, our previous post has additional details on the lineup but some highlights were:

Range of RPG players with tables and mics, a screen to picture left displaying game info and a seated audience.

Full house for our Narrative Damage Actual Play, Under a Yellow Moon, ably Keeper'ed by Marco Rinaldi and featuring a plethora of local authors!

Cthulhu dice tray statue with greeny eldritch coloured dice in the tray

Cthulhu graced the Festival!

RPG cast standing left and right of a projection screen showing their characters

Our redoubtable cast, L to R, Nick Binge, Ian Green, Annabel Campbell, Ben Anning, Dave Goodman & Marco Rinaldi.

Room full of games players at tables, some seated on floor! Amazing looking Bedlington Terrier pup staring at camera

We got busy at times, had to draft in more tables and chairs! Note Hildegard, Games Space Assistance pup in full effect!

It's our annual Rookery live stream caw caw! L to R Rafael Torrubia, Sunyi Dean, Justin Lee Anderson, Marco Rinaldi, Lindsay Law and Andy Leask!

Lady dressed as Blood on the Clocktower ringmaster and man in civilian clothes!

The amazing Fi and me! She ran two sold out Blood on the Clocktower sessions!

Rainbow thank you card with handwriting and some unusual names handwritten on it

I ran the latest in my Seasons of the Sun campaign in my urban fantasy universe - Hunt the Gowk. It was a real pleasure to run it for two of my friends sons amongst others and it was their first RPG! Apparently they loved it and here is my thank you card! Note, they weren't sure what to call their characters (setting is fae folklore horror modern day Edinburgh) so I said think of a place you like and take your names from there as inspiration... so allow me to present 'Murray Field' and 'Ali Way' (if you know you know)

rpg paraphernalia including printed scenario and dice tray, dice, character sheets etc

Got to play the Pendragon by Chaosium adventure 'The Adventure of the Loathsome Wyrm and the Machrel of the Sea' by Iain Nisbet (featured below). It is based on an old Scots folk ballad and was really a lot of fun to play as well as being illuminating (manuscript pun intended...)

Gent at a table holding up a paper rpg scenario with rpg ephemera (dice etc) on the table

If you made it this far thank you! And if you write and run tabletop RPGs and would like to run one for us or pitch a workshop or panel on or related to the craft of writing for games please reach out - Cymera returns on 4th to 6th of June 2027!
